I’m serial number 1129xx. announced a recall on specific serial-numbered rifles manufactured by Sako Arms. It sports the regular 23.6 inch barrel and uses a detachable 3-round. Only the missing sight hood and a few stray dings in the stock tell you that it has been to the field to maybe take a coyote or a rabbit or two. thats stamped on the left side of the receiver next to the serial number. Made in 1952, this beautifully preserved Sako L46 hardly looks like it is eligible for Medicare The metal is excellent while the bore is pristine. What year was Sako l461 riihimaki serial. 222 Rem Mag and guess where it directed me?….right back to the campfire. The rifle series was developed by Sako product development team led by Kari. More to come, must post before browser dumps it. Based on Sako's records 77,234 L461 rifles were made between late 1962 and the end of 1973, averaging 7023 per year. In the case of my Sako Vixen l461 222 Remington Magnum Heavy Barrel, serial number 104911 it would seem to fall between 1969-1973.
